Description
Bailey P-1050 Сleaner — a specialist cleaner-primer for preparing joint surfaces before bonding pipes and fittings made of PVC (U-PVC), CPVC (PVC-C) and ABS. Supplied in a can with a brush applicator.
- Cleans and degreases bonding surfaces made of PVC, CPVC and ABS
- Softens the surface to improve adhesion efficiency with the solvent cement
- Enhances the performance of the adhesive and ensures an optimal bond
- Reduces the risk of condensation in water supply and heating systems
- Suitable for pipes and fittings of any diameter
- Also used to remove adhesive residue and clean tools and brushes

Important: the cleaner is not intended for thinning PVC adhesive. All measurements of the joint must be made before applying the cleaner to avoid re-contaminating the prepared surface.

What the cleaner guarantees

Using Cleaner before bonding guarantees: surface cleaning from dirt, dust and grease — surface softening to improve adhesion with the cement — reliable, long-lasting bonds on U-PVC pipes and fittings — significant reduction in condensation risk in heating and water supply systems.
Application procedure
1
Prepare the pipe and fitting: cut the pipe squarely, chamfer the end at 15°, mark the insertion depth

Apply Griffon cleaner to the fitting socket interior using a clean brush or lint-free cloth

Apply cleaner to the pipe outer surface in the bonding zone (up to the marked insertion depth)

Apply cleaner to the face of the fitting socket
5
Allow brief evaporation (a few seconds) — the surface should be damp but not wet
6
Immediately apply Bailey L-6023 adhesive and make the joint. Do not allow re-contamination of the prepared surface
